28mm Französischer Generalstab

Hello,

I don't have much of my own stuff to show at the moment because preparing and printing for Bavaria Miniatures takes up all my free time.

Here are the French staff soldiers.

Best regards,

Andreas

1/30 Russisches 21.Jäger Regiment 1812 - Update

 Hello,

I've finished two more Jaegers from Kozak Miniatures.

It's slowly becoming a nice little troop. Besides the four figures I've already painted, there are two more that I've printed and that will soon be on my painting table. After that, I'd like to paint a few more musketeers for my 1812-14 Russians – and once I've finished my French Revolutionary artillery, I'll probably turn my attention to the Russian artillery – although it seems like it will be even more difficult to find a decent gun there...

Also, the photos by Mike Spanuth (see my Facebook group) have shown me how much better figures look when photographed in a suitable setting, and not just against such a sterile white background. So I'll have to come up with something for that too! 😁

Best regards,

Andreas

1/30 Französische Artillerie 1792-1802 - Update

Hello,

here's a small update on my French Revolutionary Artillery.

Firstly, I've now painted four of the figures from the first set. I especially like the wooden shoes of the man covering his ears. I think it's going to be a nice, colorful bunch.

Secondly, I've tweaked the pose with the gun cleaning rod a bit. The cannon should be loaded by a Gunner 1st Class. Red wool epaulettes were introduced in 1791 as rank insignia for these Gunners 1st Class, so my gunner absolutely had to have these epaulettes. Also, the rod of the cleaning rod needs to be a bit longer than the barrel itself, that means the original is way too short. I just barely managed to do both of these things digitally with my limited skills. And to make my gunner stand out from his comrades and give the group a bit more of a mixed look, I added a large plume to his hat.

I really should get around to working on the cannon soon...

Best regards, Andreas

28mm Französische Zouaven 1870/71

Hello,

here is the third Zouaven set from Bavaria Miniatures. This time it's six soldiers with rifles over their shoulders. That completes the Zouaven sets, and I'm currently printing a set of Guard Voltigeurs.

Best regards,

Andreas
