Bundeswehr Panzerkompanie "Einsatzkräfte Heer" (2022)

Hello,

After some time without any posts, I've decided to change the concept of this blog.

I've deleted all topics related to militaria and would like to document my model-making projects here in the future. For the past few years, these have mainly consisted of 3D-printed figures and, above all, vehicles in various scales.

Here is the project I'm working on.

I want to 3D print and paint a German tank company in 1/200 scale, in its original strength.

The organization changed with the "Heer der Zukunft" restructuring in 1999/2000, resulting in a strength of 14 main battle tanks per company, which has been maintained ever since.

There have been some changes to the support vehicles since then, both regarding the number of certain vehicles and the gradual modernization of the truck fleet over the last 25 years, which has also led to changes.

Unlike tanks and infantry fighting vehicles—which are usually readily available as 3D print files—support vehicles are rather rare. Therefore, I won't be able to depict the latest variants here, but will have to make do primarily with vehicles from the mid-1990s.

The basic structure of a German Army tank company has looked like this (on paper) since 2022:

Company Command:

-2x Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks

-1x Fuchs Armored Personnel Carrier

-1x 5-ton Military Truck

-1x Eagle IV

Company Sergeant Major's Team:

-1x 1-3-ton Military Truck

-1x 5-ton Military Truck

Supply Team:

-1x 5-ton Military Truck

-1x 4-ton Transport Trailer

Technical Team:

-1x Light Truck

Armored Platoons I to III:

-4x Leopard 2 Main Battle Tanks

In addition, there is a recovery platoon from the battalion's technical platoon, consisting of:

-1x ARV Büffel

For the Leopard 2 main battle tanks, I will be using the 2A6 variant, as this is currently the most common Leopard variant in the German Army.

14xLeopard 2A6 & 1xEagle IV in 1/200

The files for this come from a Kickstarter campaign by Jason Miller and have been scaled down by me from 1/100 to 1/200. The same applies to the Eagle IV, which is also a file from Jason Miller. I haven't yet decided on the other vehicles.

Best regards,

Andreas
